Dear Future Me

Dear me,
10 years from now, who know what I’ll be doing, except for you! There’s so many things that I hope for but am scared they won’t become accomplished. Coming into college I didn’t know what to expect, I thought it was going to be much harder than it really has been. Being an undecided major, it makes me wonder if I am actually going to find that one thing that I like to do and won’t mind spending the rest of my life doing. All I know is that I am so outgoing and talkative and whatever it is that I end up doing in the future I want to be able to do that and help people, but I don’t want to be a psychologist or doctor…so many options, but they just don’t seem appealing to me. Hopefully, as you are reading this letter you are laughing to yourself because you’ve remembered how it felt to feel the way I am feeling, insecure, but managed to become a very successful person, but most of all happy. I can’t say what I expect of the future, only that it will come with many surprises. This world is advancing so much and at such a fast pace, especially with the way technology is growing. One thing I would also like to tell you, is that I hope you haven’t forgotten all the things i wanted to do as life progressed. No matter how old you are, you have to remember that it’s okay to have fun - travel the world, do a flashmob, bungee jump, sky dive, visit our family, watch the northern lights, look for the yetti, search for treasure, just do it all because you want to, because life is not measured by how many breathes we take but by the moments that take our breath away. Never forget that.

-Your younger self :)

I’m Just a Workaholic :)

Upon reading the blogging assignment, the first thing that came into my head was that I have no talent or hobby in particular. My whole life I’ve never actually been good at anything special. As a child, I played a lot of sports - but wasn’t necessarily good, i just loved it. Now as a teenager though, all I do is hangout with my friends, go to school, and work. My senior year, I forced myself to find a job, I was tired of asking my dad for money all the time and wanted to help out in the house a bit too. I ended up getting two jobs at the same time, and accepted them both. I worked at Justice( a store for little girls) and Bass Phillips Ven Heusen(a dressy casual clothing store), luckily they were both in the same mall and right next door to each other so it was really convenient for me. I would work around 30 hours a week. So my life pretty much consisted of going to school then straight to work. I’d work eight hour shift, and wouldn’t come home until 12:00 at night. Weekends I would work all day long, both jobs back to back, then if I wasn’t too exhausted when I got home I’d go out with my friends. I realized that the days that I didn’t have to work I’d feel useless even if I was out doing something. I just love to work. I love running around like a maniac helping people. That’s my thing!

The future of college may be virtual

http://www.csmonitor.com/Innovation/Tech-Culture/2009/1015/the-future-of-college-may-be-virtual

Online classes were introduced to the education system many years ago. Students take online courses in high school and college. Some even complete their bachelors degree completely online. The internet has been causing sudden shifts in industries, such as the way people read, buy music and plan travel online. The future is becoming innovative and adjusting to student’s needs and preferences. As the economy gets worse, college tuition comes to a rise and students are finding more and more ways to pay less. Gregory Lamb, a staff writer for the Christian Science Monitor, writes about the future that may be approaching colleges and universities. Lamb writes, “an unemployed woman in Chicago who was able to complete four courses for less than $200 on Straighterline.com. The same course would have cost $2,700 at a local university.” People don’t want to these ridiculous prices, online courses are effective. Many students say that they get a better education form these courses rather than in a class filled with 50+ students. At the same time, many students aren’t ready to give up the college experience, they want to be able to make friends and enjoy on campus activities. Lamb, and many people, don’t think online courses will overcome real universities for many years from now. I agree with this statement, there are so many institutions with so many students who want the college experience. Face - to - face interaction with your professors and peers is just what we are all used to. Sure the internet may be taking over many things, but it is nowhere near taking over the world yet. There ate too many expenses that come with that.

College..

Coming into college, I honestly didn’t know what to expect. There were so many different perspectives about college coming from teachers, friends, parents, and movies. I guess I just expected it to be kind of like high school but with a lot more homework. As week one, two, and three of college have passed I have come to realize that college and high school are very different. There’s so much outside of the classroom work that you actually have to complete to pass the class, the classes are VERY fast-pace, everybody is so involved in the school, you have to learn how to manage your time, and the most shocking thing to me of all is that in one of my classes my only grades are three exams for the whole semester. This in mind, I always have to remember that I can’t get distracted because I am paying for my education and I am here to better my future.

How to mix two songs songs correctly

You don’t need to be a DJ to remix a song, I can teach you how to do that with just a few easy steps. The first thing you need to know is a free downloadable program that will help you mix the tracks together called Audacity or Virtual DJ.

Step 1: Open the either program and load both tracks.

Step 2: Right click the tracks and click the option that says analyze BPM(Beats Per Minute). Make sure both tracks that you want to use have the same BPM otherwise the beats won’t match once you put the songs together and it won’t sound right.
*Most techno songs have a BPM of 128 - 130, reggaeton songs are typically 96*

Step 3: If the BPMs don’t match you would have speed the pitch or lower it with the option given to you.

Step 4: Once you have matching BPMs you pick a point in the songs where you want to match them and then press play and record. While the 2 songs are playing you can add effects or transitions to make the beats better.

Step 5: When you want to finish, stop recording and listen to what you just made. keep in mind that most mixes at first don’t song that good, you just need to keep trying until you like what you made.

And now, you’re a DJ! :)

”Beautiful” by Eminem!!!!!!!!!!! FAVORITE song and FAVORITE artist of all time. His words literally speak to me, everything he writes is just so real and so true! When I heard this song for the first time i literally listened to it 100 times a day, and i still haven’t gotten tired of it. <3 This song is so different from all of his other songs. He tells people that you can’t listen to what people say or think about you. And what people don’t understand is that everyone is so DIFFERENT from eachother and you can’t really understand other people unless you walk in their shoes..

Don’t ever pay attention to what other people say, because their opinion shouldn’t matter. Only you and God are you’re own judge. And never forget that you’re BEAUTIFUL! :)

Anthony Is Sentenced to 4-Year Term for Lying

http://www.nytimes.com/2011/07/08/us/08anthony.html?scp=2&sq=casey%20anthony%20case&st=cse

The Casey Anthony trial is something that everyone has been highly aware of, especially for us people who live in Orlando - where it happened. It’s hard to believe that someone can kill their own child and lie about it JUST LIKE THAT! So many people are against Casey and then there’s other people that honestly believe that it wasn’t her, that maybe it was her dad that did it. They think this because of the fact that he abused her so much as a child and just laughed when he was questioned.. In my opinion they were just trying to point the evidence in another direction. How could they not see the obvious? All those lies, it was all just so sketchy! Innocent for murder, manslaughter and child abuse!? And the only thing she is guilty for is 4 counts of lying to the police? And now she is not even going to serve those years in jail? All i hope is for little Caylee’s soul to rest in peace.

THIS picture practically sums everything up that anyone would need to know about me! It was taken right after i graduated, me standing there PROUDLY cheesing next to my brother(left) and my dad(right). So why does it tell you everything about me? Because graduating from high school was my proudest accomplishment considering I’m the first person in my family to graduate from high school in the United States. Also because my brother, AKA my best friend, and my dad are the two most important people in the world to me! If you look closely, you can tell that my brother is crying :’( … <3

Video

What is a viral video? A viral video is one that becomes very popular over a short period time through the internet - typically through video sharing websites like YouTube, social media, and email. In other words, someone posts a funny video on the internet, other people see and it share it with their friends, those people share it with their friends and so on. Eventually the video becomes so catchy and infectious - like a virus, that almost everyone wants to see it and show it to someone else, next thing you know it has over a million views! These videos often contain humorous content, cute pets, people saying stupid things, sex appeal, or just a situation gone wrong that just happened to be caught on camera. “Scarlet takes a tumble” is a video that was posted October 2008 and instantly went viral taking in over 79,000 views in just 2 weeks. Many people, including me, couldn’t stop laughing as we watched this video for the first time! To date this video has received over 17,000,000 views - It’s funny and sad how a girl falling off a table could get so many views and spread around the world so quickly. This is seriously one of the best videos I’ve watched, the first time I watched this video I don’t think I’ve ever laughed any harder! Hope you like it too LOL!
